I guess I’m pleading guilty to cutting class with explanation.
I’m not up to date with my analysis… and probably one or two more required topics. But, I’m learning as I have never learned in my life. I’m motivated, I’m excited, and it’s fun.
I’ve got several blogs on my ‘gator… and all of them are fascinating. I wish I had more time to devote to read more of them and in more depth. If you haven’t seen the British Teacher TV website, you’re definitely missing something truly wonderful. Check it out by clicking on this link and while you’re there, don’t miss the excellent 15-minute documentary on blogging (and bloggahrea, etc).
I’m exploring what each of my classmates is doing, and sharing conversation and their interests with them. Some of these friendships will remain after these 15 weeks are completed. This type of personal learning is very valuable… and I add it to my network of information and support. I’m writing in my blog, I’m receiving comments, I’m responding, and I’m writing comments in my classmate’s blogs. I guess this is a permanent record written for an audience of a couple of million people. Scary, huh?
Time is finite. I am choosing and prioritizing my learning. I’ve (hopefully) just used HTML codes to create a direct link to the above (thanks, Nate!) and I’m rolling along on my brand new i-river. I want to do it all, and learn it all… but one can’t hurry the process in baking a loaf of yeast bread. It still has to bake for 50 minutes. Leave it in for 30, and you have a sticky mess. Leave it in for a couple hours, and you have a brick.
My regret is that I’m probably not achieving the objectives designed for this course, and I’m letting my instructor and classmates down by not pulling my weight in a collective effort. People are waiting for the work I have left undone.
I promise I’ll work more on my analysis … tomorrow. Right now, I’m too busy learning.
